Inspirational vocalist Sharie Suzanne Conard, of Bridgman, MI, has been named the 2005 Female Vocalist of the Year for the United States Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians (USAGEM).

Conard also received USAGEM’s Ruby Award, given annually to an individual who has shown outstanding dedication to the organization.

Conard received her awards Friday, November 4, at USAGEM’s annual convention and awards banquet in Nashville, TN.

“It is such a high honor to me, personally, to serve the Lord,” says Conard. “All I could say was that when I get to heaven, I will lay this award at his feet. So, I’ll just let my heart sing Him a song.”

Conard recently released her third album, Let’s Talk About Heaven. She has since signed with Nazareth Music Group, with another project scheduled for release in 2006.

She is a featured performer on GCN television network and in upcoming Christmas specials to be aired on TCT television network.

Conard travels extensively throughout the country giving concerts, speaking, and teaching. In addition to her music ministry, she conducts workshops and seminars on cancer awareness. She is also in great demand as a Women’s Ministry presenter. She has performed onstage at such venues as the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, the Blue Gate Theatre in Shipshewana, IN, and the Champaign Theatre in Branson, MO.

Her first album, Reaching Others With Love, featured the single “In the Name of the Lord.” The radio release of “In the Name of the Lord” charted in the Top 40 for 6 weeks in 1999.

Conard owns Studio I: Hair Designs and More, a full service hair salon in St. Joseph, MI. A medical side of the salon also offers hair and breast prosthetics and serves special people with special needs.

In 1998, Conard was crowned the first ever Mrs. Southwest Michigan. She went on to be named first runner-up in the Mrs. Michigan International™ Pageant. She has been a guest judge and consultant for subsequent pageants.

In addition to her music ministry, she conducts workshops and seminars on cancer awareness. She divides her time between Southwest Michigan and Tennessee.

USAGEM world headquarters are in Nashville, TN. Members are dedicated to enhancing the music and entertainment industries with their talents. USAGEM’s purpose is to bring together talented Christians who work in or are diligently pursuing careers in the music and entertainment industries.

Conard is a charter member, and currently serves as an officer, of USAGEM.
