Hair and Breast Prosthetics / Cancer Awareness

In 1990, God allowed me to open Studio I: Hair Designs and More - a full-service hair salon in Southwest Michigan. Studio I is family owned and operated and now specializes in the needs of people dealing with the side effects of chemotherapy, radiation and cancer. A large part of Studio I's mission focuses on the physical and cosmetic needs of women. Most of our clients have either been diagnosed with cancer and are undergoing aggressive medical measures, or suffer from alopecia. My business is a ministry in and of itself.

In 1998, I was honored to be crowned the first “Mrs. Southwest Michigan.” Later that year, I became the first runner-up in the Mrs. Michigan International™ pageant. God used my pageant successes to bring my platform on cancer awareness to the attention of many throughout the MidWest.

My work with these very special clients involves custom-fitting them with hair (wigs) or post mastectomy products (breast prosthetics). Studio I is certified by Amoena®, CAMP, Jodee and Ladies First Inc.

I work closely with community services such as, the American Cancer Society® and the Look Good... Feel Better program. Studio I also has its own wig and breast bank for under-priviledged clients.
